Last night like every other Monday night "Burke" Bible study was had. It was good to see everyone, since Josh and I have been MIA the past two weeks at church we had missed alot of faces. The first of the "lasts" was that August 25, 2008 marked the last night of "Burke" Bible study as we know it. God has been challenging Josh for some time now to take Bible study in a new direction and that talk happened last night. From this point forward Bible study will still consist of 60 min or so of studying doctrine/Bible. However, 60 min worth of prayer requests will cease and small accountability groups will commence. The groups will focus on prayer, encouragement and heart felt confession. Josh focused on I John 1:9 and James 5, sharing with everyone what God has been teaching and challenging him with. The new groups will launch in about two weeks, hopefully giving everyone plenty of time for self reflection and prayer of how groups should be divided.
Then lastly of the "lasts"! It was the last Bible study for a while for Kristen, Michelle and J Lo... Yes, there is a tear! We will miss these guys greatly, but know that they are off to a different portion of their life's journey. We wish them well, they are in our prayers and we love each of them dearly.
