Well summer has come to an end and the busy life is slowing down a little. However the fall brings projects that Josh and I have been putting off for a while. Hi ho, hi ho its off to work we go!! However, fall also brings my favorite time of year. I was just saying yesterday how I love the smell of fall, the leaves, the crisp air, pumpkins and the list goes on. The fall also brings our wedding anniversary, so we are excited to celebrate that as well as Sydney's birthday! Due to the busy times we have been having I was a little frazzled to say the least last week. However, Josh being the dear heart that he is decided on Wednesday to go get me some flowers. He tried to be really sweet and get them from the same place we got our wedding flowers, however they are no longer in business. So he had to settle for what he said were less than par flowers, but I enjoyed them all the same. Then a very monumental event took place this past Monday. Josh had to stay home to go to the doctor. On my lunch break I met him for lunch and then he said the unbelievable words. "Jadey, I think it is time I lay my velcro wallet to rest". He has had this stinking wallet forever. Whenever we go somewhere that is reserved or quiet, it always seems he is paying that evening or something. As he opens the wallet the loud velcro tearing sound ensues, ahhh! So on Monday he laid the velcro wallet to rest and purchased a new wallet. It was a said day at Burke Manor!!! There are lots of exciting things upon us this fall and we are very much looking forward to each day God blesses us with.
We would like this blog to encapsulate exactly what the title refers to. The "memoirs", the memories, the observations and the life experiences that occur at Burke Manor. Why Burke Manor, you ask? Anytime someone new would come to visit our home Josh would always say, "welcome to Burke Manor". It just sort of stuck so now we have, "The Memoirs of Burke Manor".

All through high school and most of the college I have an Ocean Pacific (OP) Velcro wallet.
Velcro wallets are hideous hans aquideous... I had one in the army (along with the other 317 Privates) with the army seal on it... I can say that good move getting a leather deal... that's the way to go!!! GQ says so!!!
